Porgy and Bess San Francisco | Golden Gate Theatre
After more than three decades, The Gershwins’ classic Porgy and Bess is back on the Great White Way and will launch its much-anticipated National Tour, visiting San Francisco! Opening on November 10, 2013, Porgy and Bess plays the Golden Gate Theatre as part of the 2013-2014 Broadway in San Francisco Season, running until December 8.
Revisit the iconic Catfish Row and be captivated with the beautifully poignant tale of Porgy, a poor cripple, and of Bess, a beautiful woman who wants to break free from her disgraceful past. This breathtaking new staging of the beloved classic from George and Ira Gershwin features legendary songs like “I Got Plenty of Nothing” and “Summertime.”
Don’t miss Porgy and Bess as it plays nightly at the Golden Gate Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday at 8 PM. The special 2 PM matinees are lined up for Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Porgy and Bess runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes, with one 15-minute intermission.
